Morgan bank tellers have a million-dollar smile, they only smile if you have a million dollars.

The House of Morgan tells the story of one of America's great bank families, along with the history of Wall Street and the shift of the global finance center from London to New York City.

This book starts from baronial age (1838) to casino age (1989). Junius Morgan was selected to take over Peabody’s empire, and the company was renamed, J.P Morgan. The fascinating Morgan story begins. The 150 years history covered in the book, the company was run by four generations of Morgans. It had a glorious period and eventually fell apart into pieces. The Morgan family had the power to control the American economy, which was replaced by the federal reserve mid-20s.

After reading this book, I felt overwhelmed by the massive amount of information. Reading only once is probably not enough to digest these. This book is worth to read twice. If you are willing to invest time on it and looking for an informative book you can really sink your teeth into and end up feeling like you really learned something, then this book will be the best choice.
